Company Profile: |
|---|
Occasionally, the Sneakers Company has produced special versions of Chuck Taylors, Pony and Skechers using denim material instead of canvas. The most interesting of this line were produced in 1999 - 2000 and had several unique features. First the denim was not sewn down at the edges, so the fabric of the shoes had a frayed looked. Second, the shoes in this line which consisted of denim black and denim blue high tops and low cuts had cracked and beat-up looking Chuck Taylor side patches. Third, instead of a white rubber wrap around like you see on almost every pair of chucks except for monochrome black, these shoes were made with a gray colored wrap around. And a final touch was the use of natural hemp shoe laces for each denim style shoe. Since the company started manufacturing all chucks overseas, the company has come out with a coated denim navy blue model which has a red piping stripe and bronze eyelets, and a light blue denim shoe with black piping. Both of these models were seasonal for 2002. In 2003, a new type of denim high top, the Graphic Star High Denim, was made as a seasonal model. The shoe has an outside graphic star, the cracked style Chuck Taylor side patch on the inside, and hemp laces. In 2006 the company released several new denim models with stitched details. |
